Hi, I’m Jolie Wernette-Horn
I have been working in the luxury, fashion, and beauty field for over 20 years.
As art director for Chico’s, an American clothing brand, I work on conceptualizing and on-set direction of campaign level photo shoots. In addition, I oversee design of all signage and catalogues.
In Dubai, as art director for The Al Tayer Group, I conceptualized, directed on set, and edited all campaigns and photo shoots for department stores, including Bloomingdales Middle East and Harvey Nichols Dubai.
At Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, I was involved with every visual aspect of the brand. Everything from the conception of shoot ideas to choosing photographers and art directing on set. I also oversaw all layouts and covers. I have successfully pitched shoot concepts to such luxury brands as Saint Laurent, Prada, and Louis Vuitton.
For 6 years I served as creative director for Vogue India. At Vogue India I oversaw all visual aspects of the magazine and brand. Everything from conceptualizing cover and fashion shoots to event design and web briefs.
Before that, I was design director at Plum Hamptons magazine and WSJ., the magazine from The Wall Street Journal. I spent 5 years as deputy art director at Harper’s Bazaar and 3 years at Vogue, both with similar responsibilities. I also interned for a year in the W magazine art department.
In my free time, I travel around the world and comb thru antique book stalls to find that perfect issue of 1959 Avedon/Brodovitch filled Bazaar or the 1908 issue of Vogue that proclaims itself “the authority on fashion and manners.”
